Charitable Giving

Throgmorton lends its support to a number of charities, both nationally and community-based.

We do this through a combination of straight corporate donations and by providing an environment which encourages individual staff and teams to participate in charitable events and fundraising. Our people are enthusiastic, and have championed many good causes including:

The Lord's Taverners
The Lord's Tavereners charitable mission is to give a ‘sporting chance’ to young people in need; those who through physical, mental, social, environmental or economic disadvantage, not of their own making, would otherwise miss out.  The Lord's Taverners were the chosen charity to benefit from the 2012 Throgmorton Cricket Challenge and Summer Garden Party.

Sport Relief
Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives.  Most people in the office took part in the Sport Relief Mile with a theme of silly headwear!

The Prostate Cancer Charity & Cricket for Change
The Prostate Cancer Charity helps fight the most common cancer in men.  Cricket for Change uses cricked to do good amongst disadvantaged communities of young people.  A raffle and auction at the 2011 Throgmorton Cricket Challenge and Summer Garden Party raised money for these 2 charities.

Sue Ryder Care

Supporting people with specialist palliative, end-of-life and neurological care needs.  Suzana, Godwin, Luke and Heather took part in the Reading Pancake Race.  Tracy took part in the 10k Midnight Walk around Green Park. Ben, John, Kerry, Luke, Natalia, and Roger ran the Reading Half Marathon.

Walk the Walk
‘Moonwalks’, ‘Sunwalks’ – to raise money for the fight against breast cancer.  Gracie, Katrina, Kate and Suzana took part in the 26 mile midnight walk!

Hedge Funds Care
An industry charity that aims to support efforts to prevent and treat child abuse.  We attend various events for fundraising.

The British Heart Foundation
Supporting pioneering research, vital prevention activity and quality care for those living with heart disease.  Trevor took part in the London to Brighton bike ride of 52 miles.

Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research
Dedicated to finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments for blood cancers.  Philippe ran the Reading Half Marathon.

Oliver Foundation & Umzi Wethu
The Oliver Foundation works with local communities to help build a sustainable future for people and the environment.  Umzi Wethu is a training academy for vulnerable youth.  Andrew Rubio cycled 717 miles with a team of friends from Farnham, England to Neffies, France!

Road safety and support for road accident victims.  Rob and his wife took part in a sponsored weight loss.

Robbie the Robot Appeal
Robbie, the da Vinci robot, has transformed prostate cancer operations at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.  Rachel abseiled down The Blade, Reading.

In addition, we have regular firm fund raising days that are hugely popular with our staff, but ultimately raise significant funds for events such as Red Nose Day, Sports ReliefMIND and Children in Need.

All these charities are very deserving of support, and we would be delighted if you would pay their websites a visit.

"..Most importantly, their team is knowledgeable, efficient and extremely committed to excellent client service.."
