Maintaining best practice as an employer

One of the major challenges for any company is keeping track of the changing world of employment legislation. And often, issues can lie dormant for some time – to be revealed only when a problem arises.

So it proved for one client, who initially called us in to advise on a disciplinary matter involving one of their key staff. During the process, it became apparent that the client's employment procedures and practices were out of date, and that this represented a risk for the business.

Working closely with the client, we helped to introduce updated policies, and created a fully-compliant employee handbook for the company, incorporating all relevant statutory policies.

Moving forward together, we worked to help develop this company’s own working practices, reviewed and updated their employee agreements and provided assistance on absence reporting.

Andrew Rubio, Chief Executive, Throgmorton: “Many companies do not recognise the importance of watertight HR procedures, the practicalities of implementing them, and of keeping them up-to-date. This is a good example of where Throgmorton has been able to put things right for a company – and we now support them on an ongoing basis, providing help and guidance whenever they need it.”
